Welcome Back Events A Great Success!

The staff at the Addlestone Library would like to thank all of the students and staff members that helped make the Library's Welcome Back Festivities a great success!

The heated competition during Monday night's RISK game in the Rotunda proved to be a crowd favorite. Stay tuned for another exciting game night soon!

Evan shows that he is the master of all things trivial during Tuesday night's You Don't Know Jack trivia contest. Legends were made, feelings were hurt, but most importantly, fun was had by all!


The screening of the Lost Skeleton of Cadavra on the south side of the John Rivers Garden on Wednesday evening brought many out to see the lost B-movie satire (and favorite of our intrepid Media Collections Librarian, Jared Seay). Fortunately, the weather cooperated and the movie was enjoyed by all.

Cathy Evans Joins Media Collections Staff

Cathy Evans is the newest member of the Addlestone Reference Department. Cathy will be assisting with the management of Media Collections and developing programs and special events.

Her extensive experience in program design (film / speaker series) as the former curator of the John Rivers Communications Museum will be put to use as the library begins developing such events. Cathy will be working to create in-depth, educational outreach programs for CofC students, faculty, and staff, as well as for members of the local community. These programs will help the Addlestone Library be a more relevant force in the community, increasing its public visibility and making it more integral to the community and to the campus. The programs will utilize and highlight the library’s media collection, particularly recent documentary films.

Fall Hours for Media Collections

The Media Collections new hours for this fall include new Sunday hours.

Monday - Thursday: 10am - 7pm
Friday: 10am - 5pm
Sunday: 2pm - 7pm

Three Nights of Fun at the Addlestone Library

As part of the College of Charleston Welcome Week Activities the Addlestone Library is Offering Three nights of Risky, Skeletal, Trivial Fun and Games!!

Monday August 21
Game Night 1.1: RISK in the Rotunda

Location: Addlestone Library Rotunda

Time:6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Details: Come engage in some team play of the
classic board game RISK on a giant game board in the library rotunda.
